Robert Hamilton Overview

overview

When asked by a Protégé to explain his work, Hamilton replied, "You and I know it's all about the design, but hell, you have to give 'em something." And he certainly did. Through improvisation, he carefully created paintings that seem both naïve and sophisticated, while celebrating his heroes and friends or playfully skewering the high and mighty. Regardless of subject, the power of pure aesthetics and the sheer delight of surprise are always paramount.
